Preceding the innumerable conjecture concerning their remarkable day, actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh publicizes their wedding date on October 21.

Ranveer Singh son of Jugjeet Singh Bhavnani real estate businessman and Anju Bhavnani, housewife .Deepika Padukone daughter of the former badminton player, Prakash Padukone, who was ranked number 1 in the world in 1980 and Ujjala Padukone.Their parents supported their decisions happily.

Expressing about their love-story their romance begin on the sets of ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela’ Couple infatuated each other on the first day of the shoot.

Their pre-wedding functions undertook 10 days before the wedding. Actress Deepika Paudkone’s mother arranged a Konkani Nandi Puja at their residence in Bangalore. A coconut is placed on top of a kalash (copper pot) filled with holy water. It symbolizes the emergence of the wedding celebrations. The filled kalash symbolizes a vessel full of ‘amrit’ or nectar of life Nandi means ‘beginning’ in Konkani and the Puja is ritualistic beginning to the wedding festivities.

The first invitation of the wedding is offered to God to seek his blessings. Guests at the Nandi Puja were served authentic Konkani dishes laid out on banana leaves.

Haldi ceremony was celebrated at Ranveer’s place in Bandra, Mumbai. The ceremony was managed by family and close friend.

Leading couple who are getting hitched on November 14 and 15 was dotted pairing in white at the Mumbai airport. The venue is Italy’s Villa del Balbianello and after the wedding, the couple is expected to land in India on November 18.

Deepika and Ranveer legally engaged in a Konkani custom performed Phool Muddi rituals.In this ritual, bride and groom’s families meet and offer prayers. Further the coconuts and turmeric powder are exchanged and the father of the bride washes the groom’s feet and formally welcomes him into the family.

As per the Konkani traditions, the couple sits down for a pooja and is followed by the exchange of rings. After the engagement ceremony, Couple mehendi and sangeet functions initiated.


Ranveer Singh enjoyed the most at the Mehendi ceremony. He enjoyed dancing on the floor while his lady love was busy getting the Mehendi done. Old songs were being played. First Shubha Mudgal performed, followed by Harshdeep Kaur. Romantic songs, ghazals and sufi songs were performed.
