On Nov 5th, the 10 yr old girl, who was mentally challenged but enjoyed playing in the locality like any other well-grown kid of her age. She was playing happily that days, when suddenly she went missing and that created mayhem in family and society. Each one in the locality searched for her until ultimately the family filed a missed complaint at the nearby police station at Bhandup, Mumbai.
She was playing with her brother, however, in no time she disappeared on Nov 5th. The missing complaint of the girl was registered as a kidnapping case by the police and the hunt for the kid continued for about 4-5 days until 9th Nov, when a girl’s half-nude body covered in few rags recovered by the police, from the railway track of vidya vihar station, Mumbai was identified by the family as their kid, who went missing.
Meanwhile, in the investigation, police also got their hands on the CCTV footage of the locality showing a 30yr old Man from the same locality moving around with the missing girl on the day she was kidnapped. The man was absconding for few days, until Friday when the local social worker and few others in the locality identified the man and thrashing him badly for the crime done and handed him over to the police. The man was found with a knife in his pocket and a bottle of phenyl. It seemed like he was carrying this stuff to clear out any evidences left of the crime. The policeman is now investigating the whole crime scene and the post mortem report of the girl has shown multiple sexual assaults and death by strangling her neck. The culprit has been booked under several criminal charges and detained for kidnapping, sexual assault, and murder of the kid.
