Sushant Singh Rajput

An official involved with the suicide case of Sushant Singh Rajput has confirmed that the cloth used by the actor to hang himself would be sent for ‘Tensile strength’ analysis. This comes as significant progress in the suicide case that has gripped the attention of the entire nation. Tensile strength analysis will determine whether there was any foul play involved.

There were also reports about film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali being summoned by the Bandra police to give his statements about the case. Reportedly, the director had signed Sushant Singh Rajput for many films but couldn’t work with him due to some issues.

The news of Sushant’s suicide has sent shockwaves across the country, with many people still finding it hard to come to terms with the actor’s demise. Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging at his Mumbai residence on 14th June. Early investigations revealed that the actor had used a green coloured cotton nightgown to hang himself from the ceiling. There was no suicide note on the spot, so police were suspecting foul play. Postmortem reports suggest that the death of the actor was due to asphyxiation. But, the lack of solid evidence is preventing them from making any official statement.

The Test:

The Forensic Science Laboratory in Suburban Kalina has been entrusted with the tensile strength analysis test. Along with the cloth, the police have also sent the viscera of the late actor for detailed forensic investigation. To confirm the exact cause of the actor’s death, the forensic experts will compare ligature marks around the actor’s neck with the pattern of the cloth.

Tensile strength analysis will be done by testing whether the cloth can bear a weight of around 80 kg without tearing. This will ascertain whether the cloth was used by the actor to take his life. If the tensile strength test reveals that the cloth couldn’t have borne the weight of the actor (around 80 kg), it will come as a shock to everyone. The viscera from the actor’s body would be tested for any traces of poison or narcotics.

Meanwhile, People are in Constant Denial:

Social media is already abuzz with speculations and conspiracy theories about the actor’s death. People have denied that the actor could have taken such an extreme step. The first among such deniers was ‘Queen’ actress Kangana Ranaut who, in an IGTV video on Instagram, had confidently stated that the young and talented actor could not have taken his own life. It was this video that had fuelled the explosion of the term ‘Nepotism’ across every media platform.

Current Status:

The forensic report would take nearly 3 days to come through. Till then, we can wonder what the result might be. So far, 29 people have been questioned regarding the case, including actor Rhea Chakraborty, casting director Mukesh Chhabra, and his co-star in the unreleased ‘Dil Bechara’ movie, Sanjana Sanghi.

In the meantime, a lot of people have been detained for spreading fake news on the case. The official forensic report is waited for any further investigations regarding the case.
