We’ve a emerging star in the field of Table Tennis for India, who’s determined to be Sania & Sindhu of T.T.
Manika Batra,23 hailing from Delhi is already on the path of fetching glory to her country along with her own self. She has become the toast of T.T and her sensational run at the Gold Coast Games with a gold each in women’s singles and women’s team event, silver in women’s doubles, and a bronze in mixed doubles.



“The reaction has been unbelievable. It felt great when the Star Players like Sania, Sindhu and Sushil Kumar congratulated me at the Games Village” Manika Batra.

Having influenced from her elder sister and brother at the tender age of four, she was keen and interested in Table Tennis and by putting in efforts , dedication , many years down the line here are some accomplishments of her :-

→ Bronze medal – third place 2018 Jakarta Palembang Mixed doubles

Commonwealth Games:

→ Gold medal – first place 2018 Gold Coast Women’s team
→ Gold medal – first place 2018 Gold Coast Women’s singles
→ Silver medal – second place 2018 Gold Coast Women’s doubles
→ Bronze medal – third place 2018 Gold Coast Mixed doubles

South Asian Games:

→ Gold medal – first place 2016 Guwahati/Shillong Women’s team
→ Gold medal – first place 2016 Guwahati/Shillong Women’s doubles
→ Gold medal – first place 2016 Guwahati/Shillong Mixed doubles
→ Silver medal – second place 2016 Guwahati/Shillong Women’s singles

She downed triple Olympic medalist and world no.4 Feng Tianwei of Singapore twice. And another feather to this queen’s crown is; she is an Arjuna Awardee.

The Delhi girl set the real and the virtual world on fire following her jaw dropping feat with none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the chorus of congratulatory messages.

She is hoping that she has done enough to spark a table tennis revolution in India. The next challenge for her is the World Team Championships in Sweden from April 29.



She is undoubtedly the spark, which will rise high soon enough with time and definitely open up gates for aspirants who will eventually make our country proud.
